FAQs

Quick Answers

Have Questions?

Are you insured and bonded? Do you do background checks?

Yes, we are fully insured and bonded. All our care providers must pass a background check.

Are your pet sitters and dog walkers trained and experienced?

Yes, Furbabies RVA has an extensive training program. In addition to Pet First Aid and CPR our pet care providers must complete additional hours of both coursework and hands on training prior to working with your pets. Furbabies RVA provides its staff with continuing educational opportunities to make sure your care provider has all the tools they need to address any situation.

Can you provide references or certifications for your pet sitters or dog walkers?

Absolutely! All our care providers will receive certificates of completion for most coursework, and we are always excited to share their achievements. We are happy to provide references upon request.

Can you administer medications to my pet?

Yes, our staff has been trained how to safely and properly administer medication.

Do you handle all breeds of dogs? What about cats?

Yes! Our experienced staff can work with all breeds of dogs. And we have a special affection for our feline friends! We offer overnight care for cats and 30 minute daily drop-in visits.

Do you charge for additional pets?

Our sitting service is customized care. The overnight packages are all inclusive and we generally don’t charge for additional pets. Our walking service price is for the first two dogs. Three or more dogs require a more experienced handler so there is an additional charge for more than two dogs.

What is your inclement weather policy?

We know your animals are counting on us, so if it is safe for our team and your pets, we work in all weather conditions. In extreme temperatures we will shorten the walk but will engage in indoor games and enrichment activities or give more cuddle time.

What safety measures do you have in place during dog walks and pet visits?

Safety is our number one priority. Here are just a few examples of the safety training measures we have in place:
We use safety harnesses, non-retractable leashes, GPS trackers, and keep a first aid kits on hand. All our care providers are Pet First Aid and CPR Certified. We implement safety protocols to secure your pets when entering or exiting the home, during walks, and administering medications.
